This year, Shoreline Hometown Credit Union has 3 board members running for election.

Below is a list of the candidates and a short bio of each candidate.

We will have some great door prizes, as well as food and a cash bar.

LuAnn Helgeson

LuAnn Helgeson spent most of her life in the Valders/Manitowoc area.  In 1990 LuAnn accepted a job as Office Manager/accounting for The Metal Corporation here in Two Rivers.  Because of her job at The Metal Ware Corp., LuAnn felt it was right to keep it local to shop, use doctors and do banking in Two Rivers.  It was Shoreline Credit Union where LuAnn decided to do her banking.

Seven years ago LuAnn moved to the Green Bay area.  “Last year Shoreline Credit Union opened a branch on the east side of Green Bay. It seems like they missed not seeing me in Two Rivers so they came to me in Green Bay,” says LuAnn.

Jason Ring

Jason Ring was born and raised on the West Coast of Wisconsin, in Onalaska.  After graduating UW- Stout with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management Jason worked for both Visit Milwaukee and the Greater Green Bay Visitor & Convention Bureau.  His next position brought him to Manitowoc to be the Executive Director of the Manitowoc Area Visitor & Convention Bureau.

He bought a home in Two Rivers, and lives there with his cat Princess Moonlight (who he calls Moony for short).  Living with a backyard view of Lake Michigan and hearing the waves at night, Jason feels lucky to live on the Coast of Lake Michigan.

He is now the Director of Two Rivers Main Street.  He is passionate about growing a diverse collection of shops, services, restaurants, accommodations and other businesses in Two Rivers, and is proud to be an advocate for small business.

In his free time, Ring enjoys Manitowoc/Two Rivers’ festivals and entertainment during the summer.  He also enjoys volunteering in the community.   He is an active and Past President of Noon Rotary, Brewfest Committee Member, BBBS Golf & Bowling Volunteer, TRBA member, past President of the Manitowoc County Historical Society, and has served on the Two Rivers City Council.  Jason also enjoys a below average golf game, smoking meats, napping, and Sheepshead.

Steve Kanter

Steve Kanter is a recently retired Shoreline marketing employee. He has over 40 years of marketing communications experience in both manufacturing and banking industries. He has resided in the area for over 35 years. Steve has three grown children Matthew, Anthony, and Miranda, and lives with his life partner, Nancy Musial in Manitowoc.

Steve graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lakeland University. He’s worked for manufacturing companies such as Kohler Company, Hayssen Manufacturing, Paper Converting Machine Company, as well as financial institutions including Associated Bank and Shoreline Hometown Credit Union. Steve is a veteran of the United States Navy – serving aboard the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67) in a Human Resources capacity. He has event management experience – setting up international trade shows in the United States and Europe as well as helping organize large, local events the past nine years.

Steve is very active in his community as a Kiwanis Club Board Member, Salvation Army Board Member, President of Two Rivers Main Street, and President of the Wisconsin Region Studebaker Drivers Club. He volunteers his marketing expertise to non-profits in the area –  including Two Rivers Main Street, Kiwanis of Manitowoc, Salvation Army, and The Crossing.

“I would be honored to become a  member of the Shoreline Hometown Credit Union Board. I am very familiar with the mission and operations of the credit union and would work hard to ensure the future success of Shoreline.”

The Credit Union will make the nomination list available at all branches, at shorelinecu.org, and upon request. Along with the nomination list, the following notice shall be posted in the Credit Union office(s):
